Best Kept Secret in Grand Marais

We have been told"the Crystal Pinecone Gift Shoppe is the best kept secret in Grand Marais".  Actually, we
are located  a bit out of town, just at the top of the hill but,  but, really not far at all! Customers will say " Oh wow, we did not know you were here". We are located on West ridge Road off M-77 surrounded by  pine trees and the  northwoods of the U.P of Michigan. Here are a couple of photos of the inside of our shoppe. We have a nice display of antiques behind the counter that helps to set the mood of a little general store when  Grand Marais was a booming fishing and logging town.
The last photo is some of the soap we carry along with other handcrafted soaps by the Denali Dreams Soap Factory in Alaska.

The Deer Hunter, that Time Forgot

Here is is very old photo that my dad  had for forever. Don't have any information  about this deer hunter
that bagged this huge buck. No writing on the back of the photo, either...just a story in the photo itself.  No doubt, this  whitetail buck was taken in the U. P. of of Michigan. Great photo!

Artful Gifts

This "Artful Gifts" sign was made with driftwood  and beach pebbles. Some of the driftwood pieces have been painted to create the little house, roof, door, and the front steps to the doorway. Pebbles were used for  pathway to the house and a small rock painted yellow for the sun. This sign hangs at the door of The Crystal Pinecone Gift Shoppe.

Rock Painted Rocks

This gathering of hand painted rocks were done by artist, Dorothy Woropay. All the rocks were collected on rock excursions and then Dorothy  did her magic with a artist brush. I will post different examples of more of these hand painted rocks again.
